Their restaurant may be in Center Moriches, but the La Volpe clan's hearts and
stomachs are inspired by Sicily and Tuscany. And they want their patrons to
feel that way too. "We serve authentic Italian...a touch of Italy on Long
Island," says co-owner Roberto La Volpe of his family's restaurant and
brick oven pizzeria. When it comes to serving up delectable Italian fare, it
truly is a family affair. Roberto's brother Frank runs the kitchen; brother Rob
oversees the dining room while siblings Charlie and Sal run the pizzeria. From
the portrait of Italian icon Sofia Loren mounted on a wall to the Tuscan
inspired wooden decor, the La Volpe's left no detail to chance. But it's their
food and wine they take most pride in. Entrees range from Tortellini a la Volpe
to Bucatini Chisardi. At least once a month, diners can also enjoy the
ristorante's special wine dinners, which consist of a five-course meal - with a
different wine paired with each course. For special celebrations, there's a
private room within the ristorante which can hold up to 32 people.
